It was pouring rain, thunder was clapping in the distance and lightening was flashing, lighting up the dark night sky.
It was roughly around 11 pm and the teenager known as Ricky was shuffling along with the other Pirates through the puddle of mud, his blue eyes glaring at the ground, they were all tied together with ropes as the Rakyat lead them back their Village, guns at their heads.
They had never seen it coming, the attack, they were all un-aware. Fuck.
The Rakyat had come out of the Jungle, out of nowhere, guns a blazing the Pirates barely had any time to react, the ones they killed they threw into the ocean for the sharks and the ones they had captured they were making march back to their village, God knew what they were gonna do to them.
Ricky shuffled along with the others, clenching his fists tightly, among him was Vaas, somewhere thrown into the rows of men, he had lost sight of him when he had suffered a blow to the back of the head which now bleed heavily.
He didn’t care; his mind was distracted by the loud claps of thunder, the loud splashes of his boots in water along with the others, some crying and begging. Fuckers. He snarled angrily and tugged at the ropes tied around his wrists.
The German lifts his bloody and bruised face to examine the men around him, their clothes all torn, blood running down their arms, he shook his head and pulled at the ropes more.
The men around him shuffled along silently, their heads hung and staring at the ground, expect for one, his head was lifted up and his brown eyes stared ahead, the large scar on the side of his head standing out from the blood; Vaas.
Ricky tore his eyes away from the older man and looked down at his left arm, the tattoo there now mocked him almost.
They’d been caught. They were all fucked.
“Not if I can help it…” The youngest muttered to himself as he roughly jerked and yanked at the ropes bounding his wrists together, the rope digging in, he cursed and pulled harder.
Got fight another fight.
Ricky tugged more, cursing; some of the Pirates watched him with pale shaken faces.
I gotta run another night.
From behind him Vaas watched, a small smirk on his face.
Get it out check it out.
Ricky smiles as the ropes begin to give, the knot slowly loosening as he tugged.
I'm on my way and I don't feel right.
The others watched him with hope in their eyes, others scoffed and turned away never liking the kid from the beginning.
I gotta get me back.
Ricky let his tongue slip out of his mouth as he jerked his hands away from each other quickly, the rope giving and sliding off his wrist “Yes!” he whispered.
I can't be beat and that's a fact
It's OK
I'll find a way
You ain't gonna take me down no way
Don't judge a thing until you know what's inside it
Don't push me
I'll fight it
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no.
Ricky slowly slipped out of the line of Pirates, one of the Rakyat seeing him he aims his gun “GET BACK IN LINE PIRATE!” he yells, cocking the shotgun.
The teenager took off running as fast as he can, his boots splashing in the puddle of water as shots rang out, the men cheering him on and Vaas laughing.
If you can't catch a wave then you're never gonna ride it
You can't come uninvited
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no
You can't take me
I'm free!
The German ran as fast as his scrawny little legs would carry him, further and further away from the captured Pirates and Rakyat, he would come back later with Hoyt and his men, he’d help them.
Why did it all go wrong?
I wanna know what's going on
And what's this holding me?
I'm not where I'm supposed to be
He’d save them all.
I gotta fight another fight
I gotta fight with all my might
I'm getting out, so check it out
you're in my way
But his hopes to be a hero quickly depleted when he skidded to the edge of a cliff, peering down he saw nothing but jagged rocks and ocean. Dead End.
Yeah, you better watch out
Oh, come on!
Behind him he could hear the Rakyat gaining.
Don't judge a thing until you know what's inside it
Don't push me
I'll fight it
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no.
Ricky whipped around to see three of the men with guns, all aimed at him.
“GIVE UP PIRATE!”
If you can't catch a wave then you're never gonna ride it
You can't come uninvited
Ricky stepped back, the edge of his foot on the cliff, he weighed his options.
Never gonna give in
never gonna give it up, no
“You can't take me…I'm free” he tipped his weight backward and fell off the edge and down below towards the jagged rocks, and ocean.
