Later that night.Vaas sighed softly as the form next to him continued to fidget and groan, roll over, kick, whimper, and mumble.
The older man hadn’t got any sleep and he was exhausted but the child next to him kept him awake.
“Ricky,” he grumbles, trying to jar the kid awake “Wake up you little fucker.”
Ricky responded by kicking the man in the leg making him yelp and curse, he rolled over and wrapped an arm around the boy and brought him close glaring “Wake up!”
The child jumped slightly and buried his face in Vaas’s chest, whimpering softly.
Vaas tensed up at the contact, he looked down at the small boy and gently pats his back “…Kid. Hey, kid” he whispers gently shaking him.
Ricky didn’t wake up; instead he cuddled closer to the older man and yawned softly.
The Pirate leader sighs softly and let the boy be, as long as the kid wasn’t keeping him awake he didn’t care.
